Éléonore Mine

The scope of work at Éléonore Mine has included designing and building exploration and production shafts, lateral development and raiseboring.

Noteworthy achievements for this project includes 110 holes in 1 year, using a Redbore 40-SDR raise drill in 2021.

Labour, supervision and shaft sinking equipment were provided for the sinking of the 7 m diameter x 725 m deep exploration shaft. The shaft was concrete-lined and equipped with steel guides, two skips and one Maryann.

The production shaft, 7 m diameter x 1,500 m deep, was sunk from 2011 to 2015 and required the excavation of six stations, the deepest of which was at the 1,400 m level.

Redpath also provided engineering services for the design and engineering of the sinking plant, excluding hoists. All work associated to the sinking setup of the Éléonore production shaft was directed by Redpath, and was followed by mine production.
